Travel & Accommodation
Below you’ll find details about transportation, flights and hotel recommendations near the venue.
The venue…
The Byre at Inchyra
The Byre at Inchyra is a 45 minute drive from Edinburgh, or a 10 minute drive from Perth. Both cities have great accommodation options for hotels and Airbnbs.
We recommend staying in Perth for the weekend as it is much easier to get to, and back from, the wedding.
Accommodation…
Many of our guests are staying at The Mercure on September 12th and 13th.
The Mercure - an affordable 3-star hotel conveniently located in the city centre.
Address: West Mill St, Perth PH1 5QP, UK
If The Mercure doesn’t suit you, here are other hotels we recommend in Perth:
Parklands hotel - an award winning boutique 4-star hotel in the city centre.
Address: 2 St Leonard's Bank, Perth, PH2 8EB
Premier Inn - a great 3-star budget option located in the city centre.
Address: Perth Mill Street, Perth, Perthshire, PH1 5HZ
Murrayshall - a little outside of Perth, a beautiful 4-star hotel in the countryside.
Address: Murrayshall Country Estate, Scone, Perth, Scotland, PH2 7PH
Additionally, there are a number of other boutique hotels as well as Airbnbs in Perth that would be excellent options for accommodation.
Getting to the area…
For those coming from the USA:
General reminder: Starting in 2025 Americans will need an Electronic Travel Authorization to travel to the UK. You can apply online or through the UK ETA app in just a few minutes. Processing time is typically within minutes, but the site says it can take up to 3 business days in some cases, so be sure to do this in advance.
There are three airlines that fly direct from New York or Boston to Edinburgh: Delta, United and JetBlue. Or, if you don’t mind a brief layover, there are a variety of flights from most major US airports that connect to Edinburgh through London or Dublin.
Edinburgh airport is a 20-25 minute drive to Edinburgh city centre, or if you’re making your way directly to Perth, you can pre-order an airport taxi that will take you approximately 45 mins to get to Perth. Uber is also an option in Edinburgh and most cities in the UK.
If you’re staying in Edinburgh for a few days before or after the wedding, there is an easy and direct train from Edinburgh Waverley (city centre) to Perth which takes 1hr 20 mins. You can book train tickets online.

From Edinburgh:
If you are staying in Edinburgh and would like to travel to and from the wedding venue day-of, you can pre-book your own taxi from Edinburgh City Cabs. If you are driving yourself, there is ample parking at the wedding venue. Please note that the wedding venue is approximately 45 minutes drive each way from Edinburgh.
From Perth:
There will be a shuttle bus picking up from Perth city centre at approximately 1:30pm to take guests to the venue, which is about a 10 minute drive away. The shuttle bus will return guests after the evening celebrations, returning to Perth city centre at approximately midnight.
If you would rather arrange your own transportation, you can pre-order a taxi to take you to and from the wedding. Two taxi companies we recommend are: Perth Private Hire or Thistle Taxis. The best way to ensure taxis will be available is to pre-book your ride.
